Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I think they wanted to make sure the new viewers were caught up since they'd been off the air for so long

Oh, I totally figured that's what it was. Hope the ratings are good (especially since SCC is tanking right now).

I heard (on Fresh Air maybe?) that ratings are down all over - that Grey's Anatomy ratings and Heroes' ratings were way down from last season's premieres. Maybe SCCs ratings are just reflecting the general trend?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'd be curious to know what Hulu's numbers are for the same timeframe.

Also, have they figured out a way to include Tivo numbers yet?

they need to because i'm really tired of having to rely on Neilsen numbers to reflect the general population when there are so many more methods available to the execs these days. streaming content, especially.

I think that they do use dvr+7 but, you know, we won't know that stuff 'til next week.

Yeah, Nielsen has tracked DVR use for a couple of years now.

This is the story about low ratings I heard on NPR this morning.

ION, new CW show:

Holy Prequel, Robin! The Graysons Coming to the CW

Batman can have the big screen. Second banana Robin is settling for the small screen.

According to Variety, the CW is developing a one-hour drama based on the pre-Robin days of Batman's perennial sidekick.

The Graysons will explore Dick "DJ" Grayson's youth and adolescence in the same vein Smallville does for Clark Kent.

Not surprisingly, the concept is the brainchild of Smallville executive produers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson. Supernatural's executive producer McG is also behind the project.

The CW has put in a pilot commitment for the show, viewed as a potential replacement for Smallville, which may be hanging up its super-flying cape after eight seasons. Should S mallville continue, The Graysons will work as a companion series.

From TV Guide.

I think that they just want to have a story set in a circus.

Sweet bippy, they'll make any show now, won't they?

(Also, I thought that Smallville wrapping at the end of this season was a done deal?)

I had hoped for a Justice League thing. . .maybe they're hoping for both?
