Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Fringe:
So, is everyone in love with Olivia or something?
The interrrogation with scene with Peter smashing the guys hands with the coffee cup was awesome --"I'm gonna count to one!"-- but there was a shitload of emotion invested in those scenes that seemed above "someone who is important to someone I barely know is dying".
And interestingly enough, that scene was not in the leaked pilot.
(The only other new thing I noticed was the last few seconds; the leaked pilot ends with "Question him.")
Also, I could swear the helicopters were flying over the Q in IRAQ in the leaked pilot as opposed to the B in BAGHDAD in the aired pilot. But it's possible I mistook the B for a Q before.
And interestingly enough, that scene was not in the leaked pilot.
I almost asked if that was a new scene, but there was a chance that I had gone off to do something else and hadn't hit Pause.
Although I've never seen more than two minutes of Dawson's Creek, I have a deep-seated loathing for it's name and any actor that came out of it, and so I am fighting my crush on Joshua Jackson. And then SOMEONE has to go and say "George Clooney" and made it that much more difficult.
Oh, Pacey was the only reason I got sucked into
Dawson's Creek.
I washed my hands of it utterly when we were asked to believe that Pacey and Joey Potter, having
finally
got together and gone off to (literally!) sail romantically off into the sunset for a whole summer, had still not shagged.
For fuck's sakes. That whole Dawson-and-Joey2gethah4evah thing was all well and good coming from Dawson or Joey (dull, but, fine, teenagers)...but
all the adults in town seemed to agree with them in their assessment!
Craziness!
(But, oh, how I loved Spike watching the show: "Pacey, you blind fool, can't you see she'll never love you!*" Oh, Jossverse, how I love thee!)
*no time to check the quotation for accuracy, but I feel sure that better Buffistas than I will recall it perfectly
Don't fight the crush, Juliebird. It's well worthy.
Joshua Jackson is so very very cute, and that Spike quote rings a bell, though of course I had no idea what he was talking about.
I realize that perhaps my mentioning that non-leaked scene might make it seem like that was what triggered me into thinking there was potentially more to the relationship between Peter and Olivia, but even throughout the beginning, middle, and then the end scene where Olivia does this cute flirty lip-press/curl, they'd been making googly eyes at each other the whole time, but my brain kept saying "but she's got a man, and he's gonna end up being fine and together they'll fight weird science crime" while Cutie-Pie gets sidelined as That Mad Doctor's Son.
I mean, not that I care one jot about that DC alumni. Ahem.
And I still can't stop seeing Denethor munching on cherry tomatoes and dribbling down his chin as Pippin sings.
I hated Noble as Denethor. That was my biggest quibble with the movies. But semi-loony scientist is just fine by me. the trio watching Sponge Bob was the highlight of the show.
I did miss a bit when I switched over to watch some Eureka. I saw where she realized her boyfriend is evil and then I switched back and he was dying in her arms. Anything important happen there?

I'm so ashamed!!! *squishes JJ*
Maybe it was that Katie Holmes was just so TALL and she killed Ben Bratt in
Abandon that flavored everything Dawson's.
I hated Noble as Denethor.
I hated Jackson as the director of that entire trilogy, which was epitomized by the Denethor eating scene, but that's another thread.
Not much happened, she saw him pulling away from the hospital, chased him in her car, and he quickly crashed and he said, dying in her arms, "Ask yourself why so and so chose you to check out the thingies". It was all very quick.

I never watched DC, but I knew enough to know that there was a love triangle with The Forehead, the cool best friend chick, and The Forehead's BFF. Even if I hadn't known that, it would have been funny to know that Spike watched DC (and Passions :) )
