I'm so jealous of the people just seeing the Avatar eps. So good!
'Touched'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Oscillation overthruster!
Eureka's a repeat tonight? No new Eureka?
You know, damnit. First my Life DVDs were supposed to ship today, and they're not, and now this? Grrr.
I suppose that explains why I can't remember seeing an ad for tonights ep.
Aaand upon repeat of those endearing first few moments of Show Me the Mummy: Lexxi is a self-centered overbearing byatch who should be sent to the moon, or maybe Pluto. A horrific death would just be more of a drain on Carter and Zoe.
in lieu of Eureka I'm watching Middleman, and while I'm not in love with it, it's definitely growing on me with all it's obscure and not-so-obscure pop-culture references, cliches, addressing of cliches, willingly falling into cliches as well as bopping those cliches on the head. In addition to what I'm sure is a plethora of innuendo that I'm missing the half of due to the rapid-fire pace of the dialogue.
And I only just caught on that Dub Dub's boyfriend is Andy Goode from TSCC. (And the fact that Wendy Watson, aka Dubby, aka Dub Dub, in other words "WW", is the inversion of MM, which is Middle Man. F'duh.)
Oh my God, I totally did not catch that.
I'm probably only getting half of the references they're dropping.
Fortunately, Javier has been documenting all the pop-culture references for us.
- the phased polaron cannon was not intended as an homage to "dr. horrible's sing-along-blog, this was merely a case of two modestly-budgeted productions renting from the same prop house
Speaking Dr. Horrible, Nathan Fillion was on Craig Ferguson yesterday, promoting the soundtrack release on iTunes.
Hmm, I wonder if that's up on the CBS website.
Meanwhile, CNN covers the history of the word "frak".
Yeeeeah, they pretty much took everyone by surprise with that one. It was awesome. And it made perfect sense.
No it didn't! Oh, and yeah, there's that other cliffhanger too.
Also, let me run down the latest w/r/t my son: A) his name is Zuko now. That's how he introduces himself, and gets mad at me if I don't use it. B) The firefighters were collecting for MDA at intersections this past weekend, right? Ma-- I mean Zuko, piped up from the back seat "Can we give money to the Fire Nation?"
At which point we tried to explain that they are called firefighters because they fight AGAINST fire, not by using it. And that they are more like water benders. And Mal--I mean Zuko, was having none of it.

It totally did. He's a messed-up kid, man.

Adorable and awesome! Do you mind if I relate this story on TWoP (I'll leave out his name)?
