Fargo's "I'm in heaven" was funny, but I couldn't laugh. The funny bits surrounding reminders of Stark being dead just weren't funny, even though they kinda were. Too soon, man! Too soon. Being light-hearted does not mean making light of the dark shit they laid down. I mean, I'm glad they didn't go all gloom and doom and Allison wasn't balling her eyes out, but... Stark's death being part of a punchline rubbed wrong. Wait at least an ep or too, jeez.

And I'm again jazzed about the diamond necklace making an appearance, so unexpectedly. I was half-expecting Allison to destroy it, which would have thematically delighted me --for reasons not having to do with the show.

Oh, Zane, you arrogant peacock. Redeem yourself and bring the triptex immediately to Henry and Carter. Not because I want Eva undone, but because, if they want me to like him, please don't let him just be an arrogant peacock. And please don't let the characters get suckered by keeping suspicious information to themselves and not trusting their colleagues (hullooo, Season 2!)

Well, I was wrong about that, but I DO wonder if the "imprinting" on the diamond might be a possible avenue for return. If EQ keeps turning up in the credits, I'm going to start getting a Buffy season 3 vibe from this.

And does that mean there will be a spinoff about a snarky scientist/private detective called Stark coming next season?

i'm still full of woe for the demise of the Stark&Carter show.

p.s. i recently ahemmed an old show called Young Americans. it was a semi-spinoff of Dawson's Creek. annnnnnnnnyway. point is, there was young Ed Quinn and i don't think i would have recognized him without the facial hair if his voice wasn't so distinctive.

I finally watched last week's Eureka except my Tivo cut out with at least five minutes to go. It's the last loop, Leo's dead, and Jack is playing nice with Lexie and Zoe in Cafe Diem.

What happens after that?

Jack convinced Stark and Fargo that they were stuck in a time loop, and Stark realized that they had to synch handwavey machine thing with the atomic clock, or they would all be deleted from existence. Fargo volunteered to do the synching, as did Carter, but Stark figured he needed to be the one to do it because... of something. Bravery, skill, plot necessities. You decide. It was clear to all of them that there was risk involved (I guess previous dead body in the machine was the first clue). Fargo said, "I didn't know I had it in me [to volunteer for such a thing]," and Stark responded, "I did."

Stark stepped into the machine and did his synching thing. (ETA: He made a point of telling Jack to be there for Allison) Fargo and Carter were all, "Yay!" when it worked, until they realized that Stark was stuck, frozen in the machine, and they watched him evaporate, more or less, into stardust.

Jack went to the grounds where the wedding was supposed to take place to tell Allison about Stark, which he did without actually saying it. He said, "I'll always be here for you," again and gave here a sad and solemn look, and she said, "Where's Nathan?" realizing the answer even as she asked the question. Allison collapsed onto a (conveniently placed) fainting couch in her prep tent, and the camera pulled back on Carter kneeling in front of her there.

And I was very, very sad.

How sad is that? Very sad.

Stark saved the day!

Crumbling into stardust is just a little cheesy, though.

It was both very sad, and, yeah, a little cheesy with the evaporating, though my description is a tad romanticized, I think (because I love Stark!); he didn't float away all sparkley or anything, really. Nothing like ascension, for example.

Also, I edited the description to add a bit that was kinda sweet between Fargo and Stark and Stark and Carter.

I did like the way Alison slapped him upside the head for kissing her on his wedding day. Way to make it about YOU, dude.

I'm on the fence about the sister. Guess we'll see.

And I'll stay quiet about Ed's death unless you want some info... he's in Bali right now getting marrried.

CFerg, did you ever post about this? I peeked in the spoiler thread, but didn't find anything. I'm trying not to be too spoiled for anything, so I may have just missed it.

If it's a non-spoiler, i.e. if Ed has left the show, I'm pretty sure you can post about that in this thread. The episode in which he died already aired, so you won't be spoiling anything.

That's great news about the comic. The only TV-show based comic I've read is Buffy season 8. I had to stop because I read the issues too quickly, so it always feels like I'm only getting the teaser. Keep us updated on when the comic will come out.

Also, good for Ed. Getting married in Bali! How romantic is that?
