It read very much like a fangirl list, esp with the JA at the top. I suspect the poll got whipped around a bunch of SPN communities.
'Objects In Space'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Not to mention the quote about Jared Padalecki was from a username "jennyluvsjared", or something to that effect, and I'd bet a dollar the user's real name isn't Jenny.
It did seem awfully skewed toward the guys—four women out of 15 people, and only one of those in the top 10? Even so, I do have to admit that "Sexiest People of SciFi" is a better forum for fangirl bias than a poll having to do with acting or overall show quality.
I don't remember Mary McDonnell being on there either. That may be my own crush though.
Nu-uh! DF and I both have Roslin crushes. She is my fave on the show.
"Blink" won the Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation, short form.
(I'm not really here..shhh)
I'm doing a lesson (with 4th and 5th graders) in January on "civilization" and why it's a loaded term (and, more largely, about being aware of historical context and your own preconceptions).
I know that at least one of the Q episodes of STTNG would be helpful. I'm betting there's a Who or two that would also be good.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Man, this is one weird show. It's a wonder it's not cancelled.
Awesome!
Oooooh! You know... October 1st is LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AWAY!!!!1!
And here I was getting depressed because so much of the summer has passed by already.
