A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

It struck me that human-Doctor is a metacrisis, too. I don't think The Doctor's mean enough to put him and Rose together if he's got, like, half an hour.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm all traumatized and stuff. That's the saddest happy ending I've ever seen.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Who 4x13:

Andi and I were alternately Squeeing at the possibility that Donna's ring was The Master's and Doctor 10.1 would realize it, and then later that maybe Donna would turn out to be The Master when she ended up all talking DoctorDonna.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

tiggy, nice catch on the Ood foreshadowing. As Juliebird has noticed, this whole season has been filled to the brim with foreshadowing. I love that about this show.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Dear RTD:

Re: DW4.13

Thanks for the closure on the Doctor/Rose ship. Have you been mainlining the old Fantasy Island? Not that I blame you, cuz Ricardo Montalban... Rawr. But still, you realize you are practically forcing us to write tawdry hurt/comfort sexual healing fic, here, don't you? I can't see any form of it that won't end in very sleezy, gritty, smut.

Love, Me

P.S. Jack giving Sarah Jane a nice roll in the hay is my new happy place.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

agreed, Trudy.

heh. just thought of something else to bring the season full circle. this time i'm thinking Partners in Crime when the Doctor tells Donna he just wants "a mate" and she tell him, "you're not mating with me, sunshine!". well...they kinda did to make faux!Ten.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

DW 4x13

Tiggy,

hee!

My Who production team friend told me they refer to this episode as "skinny cute boys in suits".

I loved this episode. I think the fact it pissed so many people off (what happened to Donna, the Doctor being an emotional dick) means it worked really well.

I'm a bit sad because my friend no longer has a job now, as they've closed down production and whatnot. But, well, Rose - love you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kevin, can you answer me a general question about the show? I'm wondering how much input RTD had in weekly casting. Do you know?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

DW 4x13

One thing I'm not getting is when Martha is threatening to use the Ostenheigen(?) key and explains what it does, Ten says that is never an option, which, wasn't that the Doctor's choice in the Time War? The genocide of two races, one of them his own, to keep the loss of life at simply two races, and not more? I mean, holy crap, Martha has been put into a position to know the Doctor's guilt, and while she wouldn't survive like the Doctor did, no issue was made of this? Did RTD just make the Doctor call his actions in the Time War a big freaking mistake, that he was wrong? I'm so confused!

Also, the BBC DW site has the translation for the German that was exchanged between Martha and the other woman. The best bit was the last, because Martha's "I know" was in response to "You're going to hell."

Are there any clues as to why that gypsy woman was so adamant in making Donna turn the other way, or was that simply a throwaway that will never be explained?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Err, Julie - you might want to white font that first paragraph.
