I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

DW 4.12:

I decided to start rewatching the season to see what kind of foreshadowing they were laying in (now that it had actually met the light of day) and, boy, did 4.2 Fires of Pompeii lay in all kinds of groundwork.

Lucius Dextrous told the Doctor that "she was returning" and told Donna she "had something on her back." Two major themes for the season, right there.

Evalina said the Doctor's "true name was hidden in the sky, burning in the stars of the cascade of Medusa." Kind of leads us to believe we may actually learn the Doctor's real name, although I really hope not.

Also, the Parvelians, who were the stone aliens, were converting the earth because their planet was gone. And it turns out that's one of the ones taken to the Medusa Cascade by the Daleks.

I'm looking forward to rewatching more. 4.1 Partners in Crime had the bees going away and it also had a close-up of a car window with the Atmos logo in it. I love the way this series pays such close attention to detail by loading them all in before hand. Yeah, it's still got its asspully moments, but nothing really egregious to my mind.

All is well that ends in pizza.

After the Library episodes, I still say that the Doctor's real name is Arthur Fonzarelli.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

4.2 Fires of Pompeii lay in all kinds of groundwork.

I knew I loved that episode for a reason!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They have a Fact File for each episode up at the BBC Dr Who site, and you can learn all sorts of little things like the Atmos flash in episode 1--totally not something I caught. Another thing I didn't catch was that the names of the Pompeiians were the names of the family in my HS Latin course (except for the daughter, because she was an add on). They are amusing people.

They make an interesting read. I haven't done the one for 12 yet...

I figured a couple of those out, but now I'll have to go check the website because I don't remember the mother's name at all and I keep missing most of the father's. Plus, my Latin is very basic and picked up from all sorts of odd places.

I just saw last night's Middleman. The Chairman from Iron Chef American was in it. I'm still really enjoying this series.
