Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Is that why he had all the weird stuff in his apartment?

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I think that was the family home. So he's known about her for awhile.

That was one of the worst hours of TV I've ever seen. I won't be watching again.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

At what point in the series did Torchwood begin airing, and do I have to watch them together?

Between Series 2 and 3 of Who, and not really, although, of course, they're each richer for the other. This answer may change by the end of this season.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

sj, Torchwood fits in after DW season 2. There are just one or two things from TW that you might need to know for DW, but I have not been so crazy about TW, so I haven't watched it much, and have been just fine enjoying DW without it. Just before you watch the DW s3 finale two-parter, you might want to ask what you will need to know from TW s1 for it. Stuff in DW s4 that requires a heads-up from TW s2 amounts to a casting spoiler.

ETA: Because I don't know where else Tamara posts, but I know I've seen her here - Tamara, all the ~ma possible for your whole family, and especially your aunt.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

sj,

Is that why he had all the weird stuff in his apartment?

The bodies? yes! she had put them there apparently. What is wild is that the brother dressed up like a woman to warn the groom. I would have appreciated an explanation of that.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We weren't sure if they were bodies or costumes. I would have liked a proper explaination about the groom's parents too.

Thanks for the DW/Torchwood info.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Dear lord that second half of Doctor Who was lovely. Very THE DOCTOR DANCES ("Everybody lives").

I could have sworn I read spoilers that there was another Rose sighting in these episodes. If so, either Sci-Fi edited it, or I completely missed it.

Art Crawl!!!

I certainly didn't see it. Well, it comes back on shortly so . . .but where would she have been?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I figured the kids were in on the crazy serial killing together, because the brother does come home with a decomposed animal. I figured he was trying to break up the wedding so he could get his sister back all to himself.

It was pretty bad TV. I couldn't work out most of the times I was supposed to be scared, and she was a lame-assed serial killer.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

at no point did I really think the new husband was a serial killer. I always thought the wrong spouse got the note.

Yes, I am particularly good at guessing endings of tv shows and movies, but even taking that into account, this was fucking ridiculous.
