'Get It Done'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Miss Teschmacher!

That was a hoot and a half.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

So the old DEO set was apparently too expensive?

Right, because the one place you really want to imprison superpowered individuals is right in the heart of a big city. What could possibly go wrong?

Thoughts on who the mystery Kryptonian is - Dev-Em, Mon-El?

I'm more convinced than ever that it's Comet the Superhorse.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The shirtlessness would seem to indicate possible love interest, which is more in tune with Comet than Mon-El or Dev-Em.

Forgot about Comet, although the original didn't come from Krypton.

Meanwhile, over in Central City, we get emo-Cisco, which is no fun at all. OTOH, we get Vibe (and apparently Killer Frost). I like having JWS hang around the edges as Jay Garrick. He's kind of perfect for the role. (I really like the way Berlanti integrates bits and pieces from previous DC iterations into the new shows, both here and in Supergirl.) I'm also glad that Dr. Alchemy (one of my all-time favorite villains, natch) seems to have disposed of the Rival. Didn't need yet another evil speedster. Been there, done that, changed the time line.

The big question now is whether Draco will find a Wally-shaped epidermal husk at some point. (Which, WTF? How did that become a thing?)

So far, I've given up on The Flash and Arrow this season. I just got so frustrated by the amount of The Stupid on both shows. (Supergirl has its share of The Stupid, too, but its earnestness mostly makes up for it).

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Supergirl was fun. Sorry/not sorry they're ditching the James/Kara romance storyline. Tyler H. makes a good Superman. Can't stop looking at his werewolf teeth, though.

So the old DEO set was apparently too expensive?

Liked how Supergirl wouldn't let it go. "So I've been going to an underground lair this whole time for no reason?!?"

Poor Miss Teschmacher. Good to see they're not making Cat a totally nice person, despite her new support and respect for Keeer-ah. (Man, that's annoying.)

I like the changes they're making this season. They gave a good reason for Clark to hang around and spend more time with Kara. Just dropping him in for no real reason would've been awkward, it's HER show.

"You've got this clumsy thing down!" "No, that was actually real." I am ready for slightly awkward Superman. He's too damn perfect.

I take issue with Superman over one thing though, and I hope this comes around again: he's mad because this facility houses something that can kill him and Kara? Please. The one thing in the world that can hurt you. That facility houses multiple things that can kill the mere mortals around you, and they go there every day because it's their job. I know facing your mortality is scary, but but's hard to have a lot of sympathy for the bulletproof near-immortal guy and his sudden fear of mortal instruments.

Oh, oh! Do you think Cat's whole "I can see the hero inside you" spiel was meant to indicate that she knows?

NB I don't believe she really had Kara pegged as a reporter from the beginning.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I didn't watch Supergirl last season, except the premiere and the Flash crossover, but I watched the S2 premiere, and that was a lot of fun! My god, James Olson is HOT. (Which I'm pretty sure I said last season.)

Lena Luthor needs to tone down the lipstick colors, though.

Didn't get to watch the Flash last night, and I won't get to watch Arrow tonight, but I can watch the Flash tonight after class. (I could watch it right now, since I have nothing to edit at the moment, but I told Tim I'd wait.)
