'Out Of Gas'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

For The 100, I was kind of clinging to my seat to see what would happen. And one thing I noticed was that the mover and shakers are mostly young (I suppose beause of th CW's desired demographic) but also women ... kind of a change.

For LOT, I hard (not reliably, but maybe ...) that they're rebooting Prison Break with, if I remember correctly, they said "the original cast" ... so maybe Wentworth Miller will be off doing something else.

But this would also require the exit of Mick Rory? I'm not caught up on LoT, but I feel like y'all would've mentioned something if he died (again) or whatever.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Yeah, the internet says they're both committed to it (despite Miller's character being technically dead and all). My guess is that since it's a limited series thing, like The X-Files was, they'll work it into the schedule.

Edit: I meant technically dead on Prison Break, but I guess that applies to both shows.

I haven't kept up on LOT; I made the effort for The 100 - they had different shit hitting the fan every week (and it was on late enough I was usually home and functional by the time it came on).

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Flash:

Well, that ending was unexpected.

Guess that's going to give them a way to keep Tom Cavanaugh around.

I will say, JWS as the real Jay was a fitting image, even if his top seemed a little puffy.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

JWS was awesome at the end playing it for all it was worth. It will be interesting to see what has changed next season. Other than the last ten minutes though, I thought the whole episode was crap. Of course it was impossible to top last season's finale, but I was expecting something more exciting than a speedster drag race.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

That was extremely weak, except for the plot twist at the end. Dammit, I was gonna quit this show but now I have to find out what happens next! Will we have, like, Redverse Fringe thing going on, because I live for that shit.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I'm looking forward to getting caught up with the 100. I was Netflix surfing this past Sunday and thought I'd give it a shot; eight episodes later I came up for air. Much better than I thought it would be, since I found nearly all the prinicipal characters reprehensible in one way or the other, but by the 3rd or 4th episode all the moral ambiguity started sucking me into a "what would I have done in that situation" mindset, which made it a lot more interesting. Really wanted to hate Kane until he turned into such a sad sack, but found myself disliking Clarke's mother more in many ways, while still being sympathetic to her determination that Clarke survive at all costs. Reminds me a lot of my initial reaction to Mad Men. Love to hate them.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Flash: so, was this ENTIRE season a long set-up just to get John Wesley Shipp back into a Flash costume? If so, I approve.

Other than that, I agree it was pretty weaksauce, especially compared to last year's finale.

And also, Flashpoint was HORRIBLE in the comics, so I don't see how it could be redeemable in the show. I'm giving the showrunners the side-eye REAL HARD right now.

I hope Arrow's finale is better.
