A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

ita:
Owen: "Annoying"
Ianto: "Dull and annoying"
Jack: "Camp and annoying"
Gwen: "Welsh"
Thanks, Invisible! I'd only managed to catch Gwen's. Yes, more ungentle with the show than I would be.
Hmm. I loved loved loved Ianto as badass, although I do wonder why he was only the officeboy before all this. I rewound to check, and the best I could make out was that he said, "Pray there are five," and I couldn't figure out what it meant.
I HATE the Jack/Gwen thing, partly because it feels unsupported and partly because Gwen seems to be dangerously close to Mary-Suedom for me. But even more do I hate the Tosh yearning. That feels supported, but makes me cringe to the extent I didn't want to watch. Seriously, Tosh! GET THE MESSAGE! Please! You're hurting me!
As for the alien... er. I don't quite see how Owen knew how to euthanize it (one dose sedates, but if that doesn't work just double the dose and you get death? With unknown alien physiology? Sounds like zat-gun convenience to me). I suppose Torchwood was trapped and endangered by the thrashing, but that was all very confusingly shot. I don't know, the whole thing was weird to me. Gwen/Rhys was lovely, and I adore Ianto. Otherwise, eh.

I thought he threw togethter a bunch of poisons (not the sedative they were using) because he knew the tranq wouldn't work.
Ooookay. I guess. But also, the thing was gimongous. He would have to be using the alien equivalent of polonium!
Do not understand where Jack's crush on Gwen came from unless it's because she seems to be the only peson not crushing on him. That, or it's fallout from Gwen refusing to give up on Jack coming back to life the last episode of season 1. But whatever it is, I shouldn't have to work this hard to make it sensical.
god yes. It's so forced! And the actors are doing the right things, saying the lines right, etc. but, it still doesn't ring true.
I think it was "Pray they survive."
I thought it was "pray he survives" i.e. Rhys.
Torchwood: I can't remember which episodes are white font and which aren't at the moment because they are on my home computer. General comments, love show. Want more. Now. They make me care about the characters. Lots.
I just saw the Doctor Who series 4 trailer, which they've attached to prints of Jumper in the UK. It looks freakin' great.
Also, a question: what do people like about Torchwood? Any favourite episodes? What doesn't work?
what do people like about Torchwood?
Drama turned up to 11. Sly humor. Boykissing (and girlkissing).
Any favourite episodes?
"They Keep Killing Suzie," "Out of Time," "Captain Jack Harkness", "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang".
What doesn't work?
Misfires in tone. Questionable character decisions that don't come across as the writers seem to intend them to -- Owen's date-rape in the first episode, Tosh's bouts of doormattishness, Gwen being an ass to Rhys for no good reason. Barrowman overreaching.
