A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I thought Childhood's End was just awful. I saw the first two episodes and had no desire to continue.
Expanse I watched the pilot of way back in the fall and LOVED it. But then I forgot to remember when it was actually on the air, so now I guess I have to catch up online.
The first 4 episodes are online...of The Expanse.
I heard about it at the nerd family christmas party from one of my nephew-in-laws.
Peter Capaldi is a more amazing actor than I thought—he just sold me on the Doctor and River Song as a couple.
Truth to tell, I've never been that big a River Song fan (except for in the Library) but I absolutely loved Alex Kingston and Peter Capaldi together.
The only thing I didn't like about this special was that
she didn't recognize him. How is that possible when every OTHER time, she's known him straight away, regardless of his face.
Perhaps this was explained, but I seem to have missed it.
Pretty much my reaction, Matt.
I think she just didn't really look at him until she did.
Wasn't eleven supposed to be the last incarnation? Maybe she didn't expect more after the Matt Smith face.
Technically, but we know that the 12th Doctor has been active in a fairly public way as himself in times prior to the ones River tends to frequent. I don't see how she could know the faces of all the Doctors she's (theoretically) never met, but not his.
She said, at one point, "he only has 12 faces, there are rules" (paraphrased)
Doctor Who Christmas special:
So this is supposed to be their
last adventure before the library, right? That explains River looking at Tennant!Doctor and saying, paraphrased, "You look so young."
Of course, that doesn't track with her
arriving at the library, not knowing it was her last meeting with him.
There's no need to whitefont.
I have browsed some of the timeline flowcharts and I I think I prefer not to think about it very hard - who knew what when is hard enough to keep track of without time travel.
