That's really not going to end up going well for Oliver.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I so wish Malcolm had used a Dustbuster.
Also, I was confused about the mother's name, so I looked it up -- when she was on the show before, she wasn't given a name on screen, but she was listed as Sandra Hawke in IMDB. But in this episode, she was Samantha Clayton. (I'd thought that they'd actually called her Sandra on screen before, so the Samantha confused me. So now I'm wondering where they're going with this, that they didn't want to use known characters.)
did not love part 2. not at all.
I didn't think it was bad, but it wasn't as good as the first part.
That's really not going to end up going well for Oliver.
Seriously. Ollie, look at your life, look at your choices.
I so wish Malcolm had used a Dustbuster.
I actually said, "Where's the vacuum cleaner?"
I don't like Hawkman at all. Meh.
I wish Malcolm was dead, now there is something ELSE tying him to not one but TWO shows.
The lie feels out of character for Oliver now, I hate it.
I don't like time travel being brought into Arrow.
I don't buy Damien not knowing about The Flash.
I knew they would bring back the kid at some point, but it is not as if they have given us super sappy couple Oliver/Felicity that they need to throw it in there now to screw things up - create that drama and tension blah blah.
They want to throw so much in ALL THE FUCKING TIME on this show. Give it a second. It feels sloppy, sloppier than normal.
At least there were no island flashbacks.
At least there were no island flashbacks.
Amen.
At least there were no island flashbacks.
I want the actual island to have a flashback. Specifically, I want it to sing "Somebody to Lava" from the Pixar short.
The scene with Oliver talking to William was just weird. Like, strange man walks into a kid's bedroom and says, "I'm a friend of your mom," and the kid just goes along with it and starts talking to him? And believes him when he says he's met the Flash?
it was not a well written ep.
I enjoyed it. The banter at the farm house was hilarious. LOL at Thea's meta commentary on the Age of Ultron! And Barry whinging about feeling the aches in the spots where Oliver had shot him before! The back and forth between Barry and Oliver was probably my favourite thing about this ep.
The Egyption flashback made me snorfle because... 4000 year old immortal and reincarnated Egyptian prince and priestess?! I guess it's not any more ridiculous than Thor, the alien Viking prince. Ahhh comic books. Agreed that the Carter actor is completely lacking in any gravitas. He feels like a fratty douchebro, honestly.
I'm ~whatever~'ing at Oliver's baby mama drama. Of course it's not gonna end well, but Oliver kinda had his back put up against it since Sandra made it into a condition. Amell was very good at his scenes with William, I thought.
I don't like time travel being brought into Arrow.
I had the whole "but Arrow doesn't deal in overtly Sci-Fi elements!!eleventy!!" angst last season, but then they had metahumans come over to the show and resurrected a dead person, so ehhh. That boat has sailed, I think. Frankly, I wouldn't put it behind the writers do things like, I dunno, to kill off Felicity for angst value and bring over Earth 2 Felicity to replace her (wait, that might have been a fic I read that one time). These writers never met a cracktastic idea they did not like.
