Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, sad.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Have watched the first two Doctor Who eps and am gleeful! So much better than last season!

Compassionately intolerant

I am in complete agreement with Pix.

I nearly gave up on Who but these two episodes have totally delighted me.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Me, too.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Nooooooooo last season was awesome. Best one by Moffat so far.

A thing I particularly liked about the latest episode: the previous ep had set things up to look like Davros and the Doctor were again going to have their argument about the value of compassion, and Davros was again going to judge the Doctor's morality, and although the cliffhanger with him holding a gun on boy Davros was an obvious fake-out, it was a fake-out predicated on the notion that the genocidal maniac had a viewpoint on compassion and morality that the Doctor might actually consider. In other words, World's End redux.

And then they completely ignored all that, and instead we got the Doctor just plain being compassionate ("I came because you're sick and you asked") and Davros actually joking with him ("The only other chair on Skaro"). And of course Missy and Clara.

In the classic series, the Master suffered heavily from the same dynamic as Spike did in BtVS - he was defeated so often that he just ran out of any sense of menace. There's a risk of that in the new series too.I would be happy to see them explore this side of Missy for a while - a (hilarious and ambiguous) complicating factor rather than a megalomaniacal schemer.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I adore Missy! I hope she shows up frequently. If I had the figure and sewing skill I'd totally consider, and eventually wuss out on, cosplaying her.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I read a hilarious bit of trivia that Peter Capaldi and Craig Ferguson had been in punk band together. Given Capaldi's earlier career roles (Local Hero; Lair of the White Worm) and his Oscar win as director of "Franz Kafka's It's A Wonderful Life", I'd say the man has had quite an interesting run of it.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Dreamboys!.

And here's youtube audio of their 7" (though Ferguson didn't play on it).

I'm ridiculously excited for tonight's Sleepy Hollow premiere.
