While there are probably better recaps (don't follow many recappers these days) this should give you enough of the basics of episode 1 to get through 2 [link] .

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Also, the series has really good previouslies. The problem is, having read the book I'm not really able to judge whether the previouslies alone are enough or if you need the recap.
Shoot, I don't remember what happens when, but I feel like the miniseries was actually pretty episodic and you should be fine just jumping in to 2
I enjoyed it, although it bugged the heck out of me that the central conflict seemed to be the result of one character not being honest with the other. It's a trope that annoys me whenever it appears.
Typo -- Could you whitefont the "divergence"? I never read the book.

Sure - spoiler font below
In the book Mrs. Pole is not only extremely angry with Norell at the end of the book, but at Jonathan Strange as well. Belle tries passionately to straighten her out but without much success. I'm guessing that at some point, Mrs. Pole's attempt at revenge will cause trouble for the two magicians. Whereas in the series, she seems to be completely in alliance with Strange. Her anger with Norell is not dealt with at the end of the series, but was obvious (and justified) at the beginning and there is nor reason to believe that has abated. But if the second volume ends with her going after both magicians, the series will have to deal with the change of hear. (Now that I think of it, not difficult. Strange's renewed alliance with Norell is enough of a motive for her to go after both.)
Thanks, Typo Boy and -t. I'm still hoping that the network will show reruns soon and I can record the first episode then, but if not I'll make do with your suggestions.
Hey, it's Amanda Tapping!
The show will contain elements of Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis’ Justice League International run.
Sign me up, I'm in. A shame there's no Guy Gardner, but still.
