Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Other Crimes Against Physics:

I tried to wave it by considering the momentums of a "hydrogen proton"* (1.7 × 10^-24 g) moving at relativistic speed (which increases the mass) versus Barry (~8 × 10^4 kg) moving at mach 2. It still doesn't make sense. Unless... they needed to have a collision speed greater than the speed of light, and since the proton can't exceed the speed of light, they need the closing speed to be greater than c. Mach 2 is enough to get the closing velocity to the right place, and Barry is a bigger target than a rifle bullet.

* Don't get me started...

One large enough to do so would also immediately fall through the ground toward earth's center of gravity rather than hovering in the sky to suck up random cars and debris.

Very true. I've always suspected that this is what happened to Krypton.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Unless... they needed to have a collision speed greater than the speed of light, and since the proton can't exceed the speed of light, they need the closing speed to be greater than c. Mach 2 is enough to get the closing velocity to the right place, and Barry is a bigger target than a rifle bullet.

But... doesn't the combined velocity of two objects approaching each other at less than c remain less than c, regardless? No matter how fast you go, nothing coming toward you seems to be moving faster than light from your frame of reference.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

So does anyone know of a site that lists what Barry saw in the Speed Force? I've seen mentions of Caitlin as Killer Frost and of Barry being arrested, but no definitive list and my Google-Fu is too weak, apparently.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The gif set breakdowns I've seen on tumblr show the following:

Killer frost
Barry in jail
Flash museum
Legends of Tomorrow

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Barry in jail intrigues me the most.

Wait, so Caitlin becomes Elsa?

Great Finale! I was waiting for something bad to happen to Ronnie since Robbie Amell has been left off the cast list of Legends of Tomorrow. The cliffhanger reminded me of Big Hero 6.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Crimes Against Physics

All I want to know is if the Speed Force is a scalar or a vector.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is such a good question.

Speed force is a scalar. Velocity force would be a vector.

But... doesn't the combined velocity of two objects approaching each other at less than c remain less than c, regardless? No matter how fast you go, nothing coming toward you seems to be moving faster than light from your frame of reference.

Probably. I'm grasping at straws here...

But just plain old force is a vector.
