'Underneath'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

HAHAHAHAHA okay, writers. I did not see that coming. I was banking on Fringe-style AU where Barry's mom lived and his dad died instead or something.

So, if Eobard Thawne never existed, uh, who built the STAR Labs? 'Cause the original Wells wasn't supposed to have built it until years later, right? Well, I guess there are more pressing questions to answer like "lol black hole on top of Central City". But seriously, I know they have Barry perform ridiculous feats, but he cannot reverse a fucking black hole, yo.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

So many good moments tonight. I was totally expecting the episode to end with Barry saving his mom and coming back to a completed F-ed up future and Cisco being the only one who knew how it happened.

There's still some head-scratching paradoxes involved (such as Vonnie's question about STAR Labs) but yeah, black hole kind of takes precedence.

I do have to wonder if Eddie's going to return in some fashion, since they made such a big deal about his body getting sucked into the wormhole. Also, if Thawne turned back into himself as he was being erased, that likely means the real Wells is alive again somewhere, which I'm good with (even it means Tom Cavanaugh will have to reign in the creepy next season.)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

It's a rule. No body means the door is open for a return, especially when a wormhole is involved. Which probably means Eobard could come back, as well.

I wanna know about the original Flash helmet.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

What was the Hitchhiker's reference?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Wow, that episode broke me. I can't imagine what it took for Barry to make the decision that he did. I really thought he was going to change something significant in the past and come back to a completely different present. I couldn't even get too wrapped up in the wedding because I assumed it would all be erased by the end of the episode.

Thanks. I missed that line, wasn't paying enough attention.

Cisco's been waiting his whole life for an opportunity to say that.

A DVR alert in a separate post so people don't miss it. It looks like. Lost Girl is going to be on Thursday this week instead of Friday.
