Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Yeah, that promo kinda took the wind out of this week's Arrow episode. Not that I thought Oliver would be under LoA's mind control for too long but still.

I liked the choices they made with Grodd. We saw just enough for him to remain menacing. Although... GRODD. HATE. BANANA! Hehehehe.

Oh, thank FUCK Iris finally knows. Personally I thought she was way too easy on both Joe and Barry. I was jonesing for some face-punching or Quentin-level bitterness, yo.

Clancy-As-Grodd was AWESOME. And I am kinda psyched at the notion of Team Flash and Eiling as reluctant allies sometime down the road.

Except he's still in his LoA garb, which is weird.

GRODD. HATE. BANANA!

That made me laugh and laugh.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Is the Grodd hating bananas a comics thing, or was that a callback to the animated Justice League? (Wherein Grodd took an instant dislike to Flash for offering him a banana.)

I don't know enough about the comics canon, so I dearly hope it's a callback to JLU.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Forever: Wait, is that where it ends? It's not getting renewed?

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

iZombie:

Whoa. That was eventful. The case was a wash (obviously the jealous friend did it, duh), but I made total sad face at Liv and Ravi fighting -- their friendship is probably my favourite thing about the show. And then he got bit! OH NOES.

And poor Major spiralling and Lowell turned out to be in Blaine's pocket... or IS HE?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

And then he got bit! OH NOES.

That's the one that's going to have MAJOR fallout, oh my.

Lowell turned out to be in Blaine's pocket... or IS HE?

I'm not sure he knows Blaine's deal...he may just have been recommended and since he's a "Rock Star" Blaine would be all over that. I hope.

Or is Lowell the chief? If he's the chief, I definitely hope he hooks in with Liv and Ravi pronto somehow.

I'm having trouble with some of the names too, apparently.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

No, Lowell is the hot musician boyfriend. Liv saw Blaine coming to his apartment with a lunchbox full'o'brains THEN had a flashback to Jerome being kidnapped after munching on Lowell's supply of brain from his fridge. The implication being that she just ate Jerome's brains. Poor Jerome.

ETA: okay, watched the last bit again. She didn't eat from Lowell's fridge, but she partook in the scrambled egg and brains from his pan after staying over, so the same conclusion.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Forever: Wait, is that where it ends? It's not getting renewed?

I would love to see it come back, but I'm not holding my breath.
