Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
FUCK YES IRVING.
Orlando Jones tweeted a "milk, it does a body good" commercial.
Arrow promo spoilers if you are not caught up. I need someone to Mejia this: [link]
That promo has a bit more than the promo that aired during this week's rerun. Notably, in the promo that aired, we didn't get Merlyn explaining about Ra's leaving his weapon behind, and it wasn't clear (to me, at least) how he knew Oliver was dead. I was assuming that he was just explaining that Oliver went to fight R'as, and no one survives that, therefore, Oliver Queen is dead.
So, in this slightly longer promo, I'm intrigued by (1) him having the sword, and (2) getting into the Arrowcave.
There aren't enough words for how much I *don't* want Laurel as Black Canary. Meh.
I wonder if they will do a whole episode without Oliver.

Right there with you. Actually, I'd be happy if Laurel just disappeared entirely.

I get the feeling they might.
Stephen has said that he had more days off in a row than he ever has, so I think we may have at least one ep with nothing or maybe only flashbacks.
So, we had more hints at Jenkins' back story in The Librarians. Did anyone catch what le Fay called him? Also, running the two episodes back-to-back didn't work well with Math Girl's development, I thought. In one episode she literally gets a trophy for saving the day, and in the next she's concerned about not being able to contribute. OK, I'd probably do that, too, but I like tv characters to have different, ideally more interesting, issues than I have. I did like the identity of the serial killer, and the way the magic house was handled.
I'm started The Librarians over the weekend with a mini-binge. (I've just started the dragons episode.) My verdict so far: Needs more Flynn Carsen. Flynn adds life to a cast that doesn't have it yet, although Ezekiel may be showing promise.

Closed captioning had it as Galeas. I don't recall anyone in the Arthurian mythos named that, but it is far from my area of expertise.

The episodes are not being shown in the *best* order, according to Rogers' blog. I will take the liberty of quoting him:
The order as originally written/intended took us through a very specific tour of the characters (I know the episode titles are out there, so I don't feel bad listing them):
1. & 2.) Crown/Stone: Re-establish the mythology, set up the characters and the return of magic.
3.) Horns of a Dilemma: Being the team's journey to learn to work together. Badly. Oh, and the back door. Somewhat Baird-y, but we tagged all the relationships.
4.) Fables of Doom: Team still not working together great, Ezekiel-centric.
5.) Heart of Darkness (will air 8th): Still spiky, addresses everyone's relationship with Cassandra.
6.) Santa: Team working better together, bonding over Christmas, Eve-centric.
7.) Apple of Discord: Bring Flynn back, which eats a lot of show, and round-robin through how the team has changed.
8.) City of Light: Big Stone episode. (Will air 9th)
9.) Rule of Three: Very much a team episode, although some juicy Jenkins goodness in here (air 7th)
10.) Loom of Fate: ... spoilers.
