A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Was Kate the Brigadier's daughter?

Somehow I missed that.

I did hurt myself laughing at the coda tonight. Not just Santa but Nick Frost playing him!!!! Well played, well played. I was a bit upset that they went for the rom-com nobody talks to each other what really was going on thing. But, you know, Nick Frost!!!!!

I swear I hurt ribs laughing at that. I keep replaying that last bit on my DVR because I know this means that's it until X-mas, sadly.

I think I may keep re-watching that until I don't LOL anymore. Or until a rib cracks. Whatev.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I rather love the Doctor Who finale. First off: this is a thing that happened:

So I can't think of any place the promo hinted at going that appeals to me.

I can think of one, i.e. That she's bluffing for some reason.

Yeah.

That was excellent. Not perfect, emotionally speaking it was manipulative as hell (though quite good at it, so what do I care). I thought the Brigadier turning up at the end was the only time it really overegged it. (Especially because the most genuinely affecting moment for me was the Doctor in front of the Brig's portrait. My childhood was the Third and Fourth Doctors every evening from Monday to Thursday, year in year out - Australia got more Doctor Who than Britain did. I've spent an awfully long time with the Brigadier.)

Ultimately though it was the Michelle Gomez show, and she was superb. And her scheme was as mad as ever. (I retain the hope that she'll be back. Killing the Master with her own weapon, I'm sure that'll work just fine.)

Last comment: I think this is Moffat's best handling of a season arc yet. Actually comprehensible, and after all any plot holes or needless complications can at least be partly explained by "It's a plot by the Master, what did you expect?".
