Zoe: Captain will come up with a plan. Kaylee: That's good. Right? Zoe: Possibly you're not recalling some of his previous plans.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Tom, that's an excellent article on Constantine, thanks for linking.

That was awesome. Anybody dared to try the phone number?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Constantine was not terrible, but the writing was kind of pedestrian. At least Matt Ryan seems like a good fit for the role.

I liked Constantine. Not in love yet, but I'm in for more. John seems, so far, pretty much the same John as in the comics, with, predictably, less smoking and swearing. The reason he's now in America makes sense, and I like this odd new version of Chas. There was a bit too much of the girl/MacGuffin, though I guess she's supposed to be the Ordinary Jane that the audience who doesn't know John is meant to identify with, so I guess that's to be expected in a pilot. From what I've read, she was originally meant to be a continuing character, but the writers decided to send her on her way and bring in a different woman character as a regular - hopefully someone more interesting and less of a damsel. The actor who plays Constantine did great, I can't imagine them finding a better one. He moves and speaks a little faster than I imagine the "real" John would, but hey, we've only got 42 minutes.

There were some scary moments, but nothing that really stood out. It looks like we're getting a "the apocalypse is coming and only we can stop it one monster at a time" story arc. I'm still hopeful. They've got some good stuff to work with, if they'll do something with it. I'd love to see the cancer arc from the comics. I noticed that the angels don't seem to be entirely good guys, which is in keeping with the comics.

I came in a few minutes late on Constantine, and I haven't read the comics. I was actually creeped out a few times to the point that I muted the TV and peeked through fingers (the body bag/ambulance stuff). Well, and the roaches in the beginning just skeeved me out, so I covered my eyes. I must have been extra sensitive last night or something.

Yet I can watch full-on Hannibal. More stylized? I'm better prepared?

I liked it. I liked the characters. I... liked the taxi. Some interesting visuals, too. Loved the frozen time scene, and the exploding windows in the institution come to mind.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am loving Constantine. I should disclaim that I have only a passing familiarity with Hellblazer - there is just too much canon, it is daunting to dive into. That said, totally dug the pilot.

Agreed on the Grimm sentiment, Theo!

Good to know those without much knowledge of the comics are also liking Constantine! That will be the majority of viewers, I suspect.
