A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"Is there no end to this birthday madness."

I think it will be good therapy, indeed.

I recognized Busfield immediately by his voice. Also, the director of this episode was another thirtysomething alum. I wonder if it's fun for them to work together after all this time.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Colin auditioned for Ichabod. He claims to have told them it would be easier with an Brit.

So there you have it.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Thank you, Colin!

hip deep in pie

I know I've only seen the one episode of Sleepy Hollow, but the relationship between Ichabod and Abbie reminded me of the relationship between Sherlock and Joan in Elementary.

I feel very X-filesy about the whole thing. Down to a Mulder/Scully vibe between Abby/Ichabod.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

There was also a gem (in S1) where he was talking to some woman and in the loveliest, poetic language, was giving her romantic advice. I think.

Toddson, I believe that is the bit with Yolanda.

In my mind, Ichabod and Abbie have a different spark in their chemistry than Sherlock and Joan. There feels like more potential sexual chemistry between them, it's just that between Crane having a wife and the world being about to end there is a big barrier to it - a barrier that they both have too much integrity to entertain crossing. In my mind, take Katrina truly out of the picture, and when this apocalypse thing is over Ichabod finds himself a medium so he can ask Sheriff Corbin for permission to court Abbie. With Katrina back in the picture... well, there's room for an OT3 here.

No matter how skillful Colin's performance, I would have a hard time with cognitive dissonance with him as Crane. And Mison is so, so perfect. So yes, thank you, Colin.

brillig

I would definitely like to see some interaction between Abbie and Katrina. They could be great friends. Especially if the writers avoid the cliche jealousy reaction. This is why I prefer thriller type stories, there's enough going on to avoid using soap opera shtick for plot complications.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I would definitely like to see some interaction between Abbie and Katrina.

Very much seconded.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Last week's: utterly agree that Leverage has spoiled me on heist scenarios.

This week so far: I'm feeling smug that I was right about the Doctor being completely irrational about soldiers. I think this may be a THING for the season (if not THE thing).

I think I love Danny. Him calling the Doctor on his shit was wonderful.

Also, I just realized that the teacher that the Doctor thought Clara was dating is a Matt Smith clone, sorta (bow tie, shaggy hair, etc.).
