The second ep is better, and gave me fewer heebie jeebies. The show is not good tho.
'Serenity'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I find that I'm hitting the mute button whenever the lead is talking to his wife, his son, or his AA group, which is not a good sign.
how much of the ep did you see?
The lead was wonderful in L&O:LA. like I really really dug him as an actor, etc.
He was also pretty good in "House of Cards." WTF happened?
I saw all of it, but heard probably less than 50%. They really should have made Mr. Setrakian the protagonist; I'm much more interested in his story.
The scene with Setrakian and the nasty guy was very good. If they can do that, they can come up to snuff with the rest of the show.
I have to wonder, though, how often a morgue containing 206 bodies that are the result of a muchly-publicized plane crash, goes unstaffed for however long it was. Not to mention, the zombpires that wandered off aren't exactly subtle, as in avoiding being seen in public with parts missing, et cetera. And not all families are going to be like "Oh, hey, you're miraculously alive, why didn't anyone call to tell me you were OK!"
I mean, given social media, people are going to be taking selfies with the rescued family members, calling the newspapers to get their 15 minutes of fame, calling lawyers to file big money lawsuits for pain and suffering.
...
I probably think too much.
del Toro would earn a lot of brownie points with me if people did notice the escaping cadavers and it were dismissed by the media as a zombie flashmob.
^^Like.
IDW publishing is launching Orphan Black Comics: [link]
I suspect they'll talk about it more in Comic Con. Everything I've heard about SDCC tells me it'll be like the ninth circle of hell for me to actually experience personally, but I *am* pretty keen to see the news and trailers and other cool stuff to come out of the con.
In an ideal world, they'll live-stream the popular tracks on video so that those of us at home can watch stuff from the comfort of our living rooms (either with a nominal fee or with ads). Some music festivals do this already and it's the best thing ever.
Looks like the Orphan Black panel is 6pm Friday. Start checking YouTube shortly thereafter.
Anyone watching Extant? It feels very artificially drawn out.
