Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I got the impression that Rachel was Leakey's boss. When she called him "Elvis", she was reminding him that he was the salesman, the dog-and-pony show guy with the charisma and ability to persuade people - not the man in charge. Whether there is someone above her, we don't know yet, but I'm pretty sure she is the highest in hierarchy we have met to date. Whether she is management only or science as well I don't know. Is she the original or another clone? We probably won't know that for a while either.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Aldous, not Elvis. I imagine it's a nod to Aldous Huxley and the whole Brave New World thing. But otherwise I agree that Rachel appeared to have power over Leekie.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Marathoning Orphan Black. Holy acting, Batman. Just saw Tatiana Maslany playing Alison playing Sarah. Wow. This is intense. After the second episode I yelled That's only the SECOND one?!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

YAY, Orphan Black is back! BOO, I can't watch the next episode right away though I wanna I wanna I wanna! Stupid watching TV in real time.

Of course Alison has an adorable clean-shaved drug dealer who can get her unlicensed firearms. I mean, of course she does.

Right?!?

I cannot get my head around where Cosima's gf's loyalties lie.

Also, that new Prolethian guy is creepy, way creepier than Helena's former keeper was.

Sarah Manning’s ultimately special because she dares go off-script. If she runs into trouble, she’ll chug a bottle of hand soap to buy some time. If she runs up against a wall, she’ll grab a fire extinguisher and bash her way the hell right out. In an instant of inspired thinking, Sarah constantly rejects what should be desperate, cornered moments with her sheer determination to survive.

Bears repeating because YES.

It sounded like Leakey was talking to Kira when he took the photograph, but that can't be, can it?

Also, what a weird moment between Paul and Sarah. She smacks him, he says, "In the face??" She apologizes, he lets her go.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I cannot get my head around where Cosima's gf's loyalties lie.

I don't think she's entirely sure.

Must stop watching Orphan Black. Must go to bed like a responsible adult.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It sounded like Leakey was talking to Kira when he took the photograph, but that can't be, can it?

That's what I heard too, but it can't be unless he's playing both sides...? Or Rachel was lying?

Also, what a weird moment between Paul and Sarah. She smacks him, he says, "In the face??" She apologizes, he lets her go.

Yeah, it took a comment about how bad an actor he was to confirm my interpretation that they had planned it. You know, "Make it look real," that old chestnut.

Note that so far four of the clones seem attracted to Paul. Sarah is dating him. Poor dead Beth married him. Allison thought he was hot when she saw him last season. And Rachel seems to appreciate him on that level, not enough to keep her from torturing him to death if things turn out that way, or kill him quickly if that is the better move. But none the less she seems to appreciate him.
