Mal: Zoe, why do I have a wife? Jayne: You got a wife? All I got is that dumbass stick sounds like its raining. How come you got a wife?

'Our Mrs. Reynolds'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was really deeply hoping for more sensitive handling of ethnic diversity so to see the ball dropped that hard right out the gate after I'd been pointing at the black co-exec producer and wondering if he was mitigating shit...damned, that exact shit could have happened in New Orleans to black folk, in slave days to black folk anywhere in these fine states, to Jamaica to my mother right now...it is merely othering, and for a show that was pulling in so many others so efficiently it's a stark reminder that we are still others, even if we get lulled into a sense of comfort and familiarity.

I didn't previously wonder if they came from a voudoun/Santeria background, but you bet it's on the edges of my mind now...

That's not the scene I'm thinking of. There were teepees in the foreground, not the background.

Because books.

I was remembering the scene in Daniel's picture.

Mostly I'm still thinking about Tom Mison shirtless, though.

Compassionately intolerant

I've rewatched all three episodes and I have to say, I loved the pilot, but enjoyed the second episode even more. The third just left me cold. I SO hope this is not a trend. Much as I love Ichabod...and I truly do...I don't know if he can carry this whole thing for me.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Was facial hair common in 18th Century America?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sleepy Hollow has been renewed for another season. I didn't realize they were only making 13 episode seasons of the show.

Oh! I didn't know that either. But yay!

I think the "mini series" format is the new thing. Under the Dome did it, too.

UTD was bad though.
