Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
They may be invisible, so that works.

God, it's nice to see black faces in TV fanart.
I'm only a little bit into this week's Sleepy Hollow, but I am having a big problem. If you always look at Crane's eyes no matter who's talking in every scene, it's impossible to not laugh.
Ah, such a despised trope. The ethnic person you find is the ethnic person you need.
Just because you're doing a good job with some diversity doesn't mean you can't suck at others...
Am I correct in thinking teepees are further west than they are?
Love that fanart.
Waaay further west.
IIRC, the Iroquois lived in longhouses, which were permanent structures housing many families.
Are you referring to the flashback of Icky with the Mohawk folk around the campfire? Those were not teepees, they were tents.
Seamus Duncan was not above using stereotypes to sell cars. He did dismiss teepees in a way that suggested that's what he expected of people.

They did seek him out specifically.
On the other hand? Scorpions are not exactly Mohawk Valley staples...
Having grown up within 50 miles of Sleepy Hollow, NY -- the only 'ranches' you find are ranch houses.
There was also an exceedingly wrong landscape shown in there somewhere.
(Of course, I also complained when in the Daniel Day-Lewis Last of the Mohicans they were scrambling through the forests of the Carolinas with their different plants and trees, not the ones you'd find in Connecticut, so I'm... picky.)

YES, wow, that aerial bugged me so much. I don't know where it was, but it wasn't anywhere in the tri-state area.
The ethnic person you find is the ethnic person you need.
But surely EVERYONE with even a smidgeon of Native American heritage has a secret sweatlodge full of dream-tea and scorpions, just in case some non-Natives need to battle a dream spirit that you definitely still believe in? What's so offensive/implausible about that?
Ah well, it's not like Buffy did much better. And I could listen to Tom Mison babble anachronistically all day.
