I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love how fucking snippy this show is. I hope they keep it up.

Ichabod railing about taxes and Abbie shutting him down was a lot of fun.

The ones who want to rule the world tend to only focus on the tribulation portion of the program. It's never "let's have fuzzy bunnies for all!"

That's why you need to be the best henchman ever! You want to be the one that gets the good outfit and keeps his or her head. It's stressful, the outfits on the side of evil do tend to be snazzier.

I ran searches on some of the producers during the opening credits. I found an Orci relative and a black guy whose previous gig was Southland. I don't usually look up new names, but I'm interested in the team behind this.

And would love (she says, asking for the world) background ethnic people. Like, extras with two lines. Complicated if you're only focussing on the white familes from the Rev war like this ep--only if they kept on being white.

My instinctive reaction is to suggest that British sci fi would beg to differ, but I am too distracted to search through Doctor Who and Blake's 7 footage (for starters) to illustrate my point.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The Apple has plenty of evil lamé outfits.

I was quoting - or possibly misquoting going from your responses?

Anyway, on the evil ones it gets camp.

But, you see, they always _think_ they are going to keep their heads but never seem too.

Case in point, Snapped Neck Johnny ought to have headed for the hills as soon as he was resurrected. If BossHorns is gonna be so cavalier with the location of your head, chances are good you won't actually keep it in the end. Plus, all manner of suffering before the inevitable.

I rewatched the first Prophesy movie (I have a condition) last night and _those_ henchmen were, I think, a much truer representation of your average henchperson's working conditions.

Works for the goa'ould.

No KIDDING...along with the fabulous eye makeup, huge pendulum earrings, skirts on guys and awesomely arranged hair. The snake heads wurked it.

He doesn't look like he's operating under his own steam right now. He's not wanting to do what he's doing--I never got the impression he could run if he wanted to.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

He's probably an evil henchman because his parents were henchmen before him. He wanted to be a doctor, but had to give up his fondest dreams to carry on the family tradition....

He looked into it before more than he does now. Since he died, he's been lacking internal motivation.
