Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

We asked the writer of Sharknado some very serious questions

"Honestly, I don’t understand why people are so perplexed by this concept. The logic is undeniable."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Bwahahaha!

Ah, well, now we’re into the larger philosophical issues of the film. What does it say about humans that when poor displaced sharks are ravaged by nature’s uncaring fury we try to kill them with chainsaws? I think we need to take a good long look in the mirror over that one.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think they broached Alpha Scott (pack of humans or pack of one) in at least season 2--I guess it's biologically reflected now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I just started watching Continuum. Any fans of the show? So far I'm enjoying Rachel Nichols, but the rest of the show hasn't really grabbed me yet.

Well, he was clearly the center that tied that group of friends together, and their influence may well have helped humanize him and keep him from degenerating into the human liver-eating hobo variety of omega. But I gathered that it would require actual werewolves in one's pack to gain the characteristic boost in supernatural power.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I've been watching, sj. I think it's gotten more interesting as its gone on.

But didn't someone wolf-savvy call him an alpha in season 2? Or maybe I'm misreading a "you're not his alpha, Derek, stop being an ass" convo.

Fact is, if I could write the verse, Stiles would be his alpha, and human. Both things v. imp.

I quite enjoy Continuum. Good pickup on Syfy's part, if they're throwing their development eggs into fewer baskets. I think I like it more than Lost Girl because it admits its heroine is problematic.

Or am I just getting my "hump Roger" vibes all over everything? There's little moral high ground in the future, the present is just fighting for itself, and Vic is still the hottest thing in Hollywood North.

I like how beige its aura is, so to speak. And I really liked whatsername's partner from the future and what happened to her. I would like more Cigarette Smoking Man, I think, but that would probably be a problem for revealing the plot and whatnot.

Derek said he realized why Scott didn't want to join his pack, he was already the alpha of his own. But I think he was talking social dynamics rather than anything strictly-supernatural, as Scott was the only werewolf in said "pack." I think it's just that's how Derek has been raised to perceive any tightly bonded group.

Ooh, I liked this week's Continuum quite a bit.
