'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Art Crawl!!!

Ooh, Laga - and that would explain why the place was torn apart too.

The A&E boxed set of Farscape is on sale for $49 right now: [link]

Does anyone have this set? Is it better than the old Starburst sets?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

That's the set I bought over three years ago for $57.99 and have not done anything with. It's compact!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Also I suspect Helena is not dead. We've seen her regenerate before, and Kiera (who inherited from twin sister Sarah) regenerated from an auto collision that included a really serious head injury.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I suspect as much myself.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I am using the "head cut off" rule on this show.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's weird that her natural accent is so similar to Sarah-as-Beth! I've been so conditioned to think of her Canadian accent as fake that it sounds bizarre to me coming out of her mouth.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow, I'm listening to all this gender essentialism about a character who a) changes bodies periodically and b) has thought he was female. Apparently if you push someone enough they'll say "well, I just want the Doctor to always be male" and that doesn't bear discussion. But you do have to drag them through bullshit like:

Because of continuity, and the base relationships they've set up. Also, no mention ever of a female Doctor: you think we'd have heard about it by now, people mentioning it in the mythology of the character. But it is always 'he' was doing this, 'he' was doing that. We're also talking about the BBC: I just don't see them going for that radical a shift either

They watch the same show we do. They know 11 briefly thought he was female--there's more evidence of female than of ginger.

And then you get to "Well, I want him to be a boy. So there."

Can't we talk about it, though? Why isn't everyone as willing to beat every small point to death as I am? I am habitually nitpickblocked. ::sigh::

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I am WAY behind with Dr. Who and I'm bothered there hasn't been anyone but White men actors portraying the character.

I think of Dr. Who as Q. So why not mix it up.
