Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

'Dirty Girls'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

How is Andrea's character being assassinated?

My statement is due to the extreme character differences between the graphic novel and the TV show. I'm not a "this MUST conform to the original", but the writers have introduced a lot of characterization problems with some of the changes they have made and Andrea is the most stark. The Andrea of the novel would not have done 90% of the shit this Andrea did and that is really bothersome to me.

They took a really strong, capable woman character and dumbed her WAY the fuck down, for no discernible reason.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't think they realize they're doing so, however. Every statement on the subject of Andrea from TPTB indicates they think the sun shines out of her ass, which makes me think we may have a Kristin Kreuk/Smallville situation going on between them and Laurie Holden.

Oh NO.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Anyone watching In The Flesh? My sister gave it a "compelling" thumbs up, so I'm going to track it down when I get home.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Now I'm watching yesterday's Walking Dead. I await the day when Darryl leads a bloodless coup.

(Except I really like how he is generally so content to follow.)

I just, honestly. You're going to confide your fucking plan to Merle? Guess what Merle's going to do?

And Michonne, why did you go down into the tunnels alone with Merle and let him get behind you? You are smarter than that, except when the plot requires you not to be. (That zombie kill with the wire was totally badass.)

And why does anyone trust the Governor when he says he'll leave them alone? Oh, we'll just give him one blood sacrifice, and then he'll be content. Merle! Merle should know better than this, having presumably been along on tons of expeditions where the Governor said one thing and then killed lots of people.

OMFG FINGERS

Anyway. This show just frustrates me, because it could be so good, and they get bogged down in the stupidest shit. Speechifying, idiotic gender roles, that whole thing where only one black guy is allowed to live at a time, decisions that make no sense...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

One of the responses I got about In The Flesh was "better at zombies than Walking Dead", so while everything doesn't need to be competition, I'm going to give it a shot.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Lost Girl was fun tonight. More a guilty pleasure, less want to throw things at the screen.

Figured out where it was going from a mile away, but still pretty cute.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

OUaT: Greg Mendel is a cute alias. Too bad about the dragon. And I would have guessed a taser wouldn't have much effect on a person made of wood.
