You like ships. You don't seem to be looking at the destinations. What you care about is the ships, and mine's the nicest.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ooh, the Poniewozik review is harsh.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The comics event by that name was sufficiently awful that I passed right on by due to the association.

Art Crawl!!!

Is the comic the same as the show? Or do they just have the same name?

I kind of enjoyed it too.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I would not have predicted, at the start of The Walking Dead, how deeply awesome Daryl would be. He's one of the few things not irritating me right now.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

yep. one reviewer said that s/he got mad because Darryl seemed too irritated at his brother's casual racism.

They were separated for 1-2 years? And he was living in a multi-racial/ethnic environment. That is enough time to develop deep sensitivity.

I think it's because he's one of the few characters who has actual depth on the show. Most of the others are generally just collections of character tics. Except for Andrea, who is made entirely of bad decisions.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Inbetween shooting walkers, what do they have to do? Why do they seem to talk so little? Near zero communication.

I was also a little creeped out by how front and centre the rug rat was in that shootout to defend their home. I understand this is a post-apocalyptic scenario, and the rules are different, also he killed his mother, but still. He's a lot better than he used to be (losing his mother is a good look on him), but I still feel weird with him in a trauma-toughened child soldier scenario.

I should not laugh about poor Carol, but when she was fluttering her eyelashes at Dice Neck, and he took a bullet to the noggin right afterwards--it's like the Sam Winchester peen of death, and she's not even getting laid.
