Maybe that was purposeful - a way of showing that this was not Kenzie, but the parasite in control. It is just that Bo is so self-involved, I would not expect her to notice.

My point is that it was purposeful. And it wasn't just Bo that didn't notice. She did her truth-telling schtick to more than just her, but it took peanuts before anyone thought she was odd.

I'd be depressed if it took that long for people to notice I was off.

I don't watch Talking Dead, but I did see this comment about this week's ep, which I thought interesting (and cool):

Walking Dead needs to get get some writers to address the race and gender issues in the scripts. It is really bad and can no longer be ignored.

Gotcha. Not just Bo who really doesn't pay Kenzie much attention. Of course this is one of those things I sometimes think the writers get right on purpose even while getting lots wrong - the "show not tell" thing. Everyone, including Bo, treats Kenzie as a pet not a person. They love her like a pet though Bo is not a particularly good pet-owner. As Trick said last episode "she's not one of us". Hale is sincerely trying to get past that, but he was raised to it. Bo, for someone who claims not be accepting Fae bullshit, picked it up fast.

Bo has other issues though: she didn't have friends until Kenzie and thus she isn't supposed to have great social skills, esp with long-term relationships. I am not sure she treats her the way she does due to status differential, but because she's kind of oblivious.

Or supposed to be.

But Bo was at least kinda human. Right now her head is stuck so far up her own ass I can only figure Dyson and Lauren are attracted to her because she's a succubus, and I have to imagine that Kenzie's friendship with her was earned offscreen, because while she might lead you on good larks (Kenzi seems to be a woman who loves larks, and has lots of larky energy) she's just not been great friend material during the episodes.

And, yeah, Kenzie as pet is probably a pretty good estimation. She had her boyfriend who I think loved her sincerely and truly, and most of the other Fae she knows respect her as much as they respect any human...but that's not a great amount. In the meanwhile, she's really pretty and funny and good for a laugh, so hey! Nice to have around, as long as someone else is feeding her.

It's a damned shame no one's really taking the time to also see how brave and sweet and strong she is in the midst of all this--there isn't any one person who's seeing everything--and it might have been Hale, even platonically, if he didn't have the sudden Ash responsibility (which I'd trade for having him back--Tamsin's kinda one note and not that interesting a note for me right now).

This show could be Lost (Human) Girl and I'd be happier. Anna Silk is just not the shoulders of a franchise for me. Not the big hero of the piece in big scale and small.

There's really only so far I can shrug and say "well, race-blind casting can leave a show looking odd" when they so carefully observe the Law of Conservation of Negro Men. And, seriously--please explain why Michonne was a) turned into a grumpy Cassandra-with-weapons and also b) everyone, dead or alive, wants her dead.

Frowning at T-Dog's death--for Christ's sake--Darryl alive and leaving is apparently sadder than T-Dog dying, That's way past random and even carelessly callous. That's examine-your-shit time.
