A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
That's my bad, Jon. I whitefonted because I saw the episode before a lot of others here might.
Sorry for leading you astray, Shir...and I agree with everything you said.
Upon reflection, the bitey snowflakes were my favorite part.
(Shir, my dog once had frost bite and it is aptly named. The cold can actually destroy tissue, which can remove parts of you, just like a bite. And people often refer to a very cold wind as 'biting.')
I, too, found the bashing of Victorian values totally annoying. Say it once, okay, but that particular riff seemed to go on and on in my head. Must rewatch.
I'm actually interested to see how Souffle Girl's secret gets played out...though I hope it does not take a long as River's.
DW: In the 'bow ties are cool' scene, I think Matt was doing his best Bill Nighy impression. Seriously. It was spot on.
Andi and I were discussing Souffle girl, and I'm wondering about her ability to download herself into history.
It makes me want it to turn out she's River after Silence in the Library, trying to get out.
Is this going to be a regular thing? "Oh, my God! They killed Kenny Oswin! You Bastards"
Is this going to be a regular thing? "Oh, my God! They killed Kenny Oswin! You Bastards"
they already did that with Rory though.
No, I was thinking they could kill off Jenna-Louise Coleman's character every single episode.
I was kind of wondering that too, which would be slightly hilarious.
There was a lot of eye-rolling on my part that they AGAIN had the Doctor and the new companion macking this early in their acquaintance.
That felt wee bit too frantic, although mostly enjoyable. I am confused about Clara's part-time barmaid / part-time governess set-up, but had fun with subversion of the whole Turn-of-the-Screw scenario. Favourite bits were the Mr. Alien Potato-head (Stranx?) and the Madame Lizard Detective and Jenny. Am a bit concerned about Clara/Oswin because I don't think I can take this level of HYPER-SAUCY-DIALED-TO-11 all the time. Spirited and resourceful, yes. But the aggressively flirty banter between the two wearied me.
Wait, who was the voice of the snow? I thought it sounded like Patrick Stewart, not Ian McKellan.
Nope, just checked IMDB and no shit. Coulda sworn, especially after seeing Ted recently.
Also, Richard E. Grant and Christopher Walken are starting to look a hell of a lot alike.
