A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Green Arrow has been all over the map in the comics; yes, the dark has been done, but certainly not consistently.
But if you're not going to have him using trick arrows like he does in the comics, you kind of need to have him using deadly force to be seen as a threat.
How tricky are the Green Arrow's arrows these days in the comics? Have the suffered the gritting of America?
I really really wish I liked how Amell is acting more--I don't know if the best he can do, or if it's precisely what he's asked to do, but I don't feel myself particularly caught up in his anything. I mean, everyone else is more interesting, BUT--good lord, is he not only buff like a brick shithouse, there isn't another guy on network TV doing more show off stuff that's clearly them (Alex O'Loughlin, eat your heart out). I'd love to be emotionally invested in that, instead of coolly regarding.
I like Diggle, who was severely underused this week, I like Speedy and her teenaged rebellion and actually caring for her mother and brother during the whole thing. I kinda don't like Dinah, but that's the role of the hard as nails lawyer with a heart of gold and a past with the male lead. But I really like how gung ho they seem to be going with her and Merlyn without demonising either of them--I really hope that they're not building that up for a reveal of same.
Not properly getting a feel for Steele, which is a shame, because I adore Salmon (not that fungus growing under his bottom lip, tho--kill it with fire) under normal circumstances. And I want more Paul Blackthorne too--I wish there were more excuses to get more guys in hot and steamy (or exercisey--my bar is wide) positions.
And I'm assuming that was Kelly Hu in the trailer, right? I have been in love with her forever, and it creeps me out that she seems to be the same age since, uh, Melrose Place. The first one.

Oh, how I long for just one boxing-glove arrow. JUST ONE.

I'm ALL ABOUT Tommy and Dinah. I'm a little surprised at how invested in them I am. Mostly because of Tommy, I think.
I want more Paul Blackthorne too
I like Cop Daddy, but I wish they'd back off the I Hate The Queen Family schtick.
In conclusion, holy crap, Jack Harkness is Tommy's dad! What a pretty, pretty family.

Oh, god yes! I wasn't sure if I was supposed to know that or not, though. That's the kind of detail I'd miss.
I have to say--two helmet fake/reveals in one ep is pushing things, especially since the biker was clearly (narratively) female. And the way she killed him was one of the worst pieces of TV "combat" I've seen even before you get into the size/weight differential.
Tommy's really nice. I'm glad they didn't go the way of Ollie (seriously, no one name your kid Oliver or nick them Ollie--that's awful) being surrounded with shallow and materialistic friends that he'd have to grin and bear as part of his disguise--that would have been my breaking point.
And the way she killed him was one of the worst pieces of TV "combat" I've seen even before you get into the size/weight differential.
That was pretty ridiculous.
I admit I'm a sucker for the you-understand-my-lonely-crusade-therefore-let-us-kiss-with-tongue storyline. I'm 100% on board with Ollie and Helena.
Haley Webb (one of the Final Destinations?) is joining Teen Wolf : [link] (spoilery for season's opening scene and Haley's rumoured role)

Their argument was kind of confusing. "You shouldn't kill the people who killed your boyfriend." "You're killing people that were dirty like your dad!" and then there was just eyefucking and then tongue. I mean, not a lot of explaining of themselves, for all the relief they found in someone they could be honest with...I guess exhaling is enough for now.
However she, like Green Lantern's GF, pointed out how crappy the obscuring your eyes costume is--but she's only known him hours, not years. How is he not going to be busted with his face all over the media?
Also, he seems to actually have superpowers. He could have caught the motorcycle if he had not been blocked by the truck?
So some of the herbs that saved his life were superserum?
(Alex O'Loughlin, eat your heart out).
In all fairness to my lust object, he did get injured and then develop an addiction to pain meds so that he had cut down on doing his own stunts. If he feels bad about it, I will be happy to console him in any way that he so desires.
