Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Todd, there's still a few of us watching (maybe just me?), but I DVR and make liberal use of FF. Haven't actually programmed the series into the DVR, but every week (at least every week it doesn't conflict with 2 other shows), I find myself going, "Eh. What the hell," and telling the DVR to catch it.

"Lana's parents ... still dead".

Suh-nerk!

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Thanks for that, sumi, I had forgotten that was starting tonight.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I lost part of tonight's Fringe because my DVR is evil. It cut out just as Walter was explaining to the guy that he was in a pocket universe and picked up at the next commercial break. Did I miss anything important?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If it has already happened, no, no need to spoiler font.

It's kinda weird--an IO9 Fringe viewer who highly prizes himself on being the most cynical of viewers who will never be fooled by writer/network shenanigans said that Olivia 2.0 failed, so they had to bring Anna Torv back.

Was there ever a point at which you felt she'd left the show? I was kind of surprised at the suggestion that killing Etta and putting Olivia back front and centre were retcons forced upon us by an uncertain writing crew who didn't trust any of their decisions.

Meanwhile, all I can see is someone who fell for a feint that never even happened...plot aside, Anna Torv leaves the show, you know. And that hadn't happened.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Did I miss anything important?

I think it was just the reveal that Walter had brought the kid there, and then some looking for the right door. Maybe some other beginnings of things that you got the endings of, so you probably know what you need to know.

That's a very peculiar interpretation by that io9 person, ita. Especially as everyone knows this is Fringe's final season, which makes me think that, if anything, the plot is more planned out than ever.
