Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm not sure I'm remembering right, but I think they established before that the photostimulator doesn't affect him, presumably because of his ability.

That reminds me - how priceless was it when her daughter asked if she was a terminator last week? Love.

I forgot about that. Poor Gary.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Wait, now I remember what I wanted to ask:

On Friday, NBC is airing the pilot for its Munsters remake, Mockingbird Lane, which it didn’t pick up for a series.

So there's not going to be a Mockingbird Lane series at all? Or am I misunderstanding something? (Which is probably the case.)

hwæt

No series, just the pilot.

NBC is calling it a special.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Unless it does really really well, which is unlikely.

Huh. Okay, then.

Oh, and I watched the trailer. Thankfully the t jillifonts were just on the edge of cartoony CGI so wasn't completely freaked out by them, but I did look away from the screen a lot.

The set design looks gorgeous, and I think I would really like Eddie Izzard as Grandpa Munster. But none of the other characters grabbed me.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I have faith that Portia de Rossi will be great in scenes wherein she actually has dialog. She was the brightest shining light among many on Better Off Ted.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I've been meaning to post since I saw it last night, but WOW, if that ends up being the series finale of Alphas, what a bummer. That would be right up there with Sarah Connor Chronicles and Twin Peaks for unsatisfyingly cut off endings.

Poor Gary indeed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I feel okay with it, since the blast *may* kill normals, and is supposed to power up alphas. It feels like a "We haven't finished the paperwork for next season, but we sure love this Ryan kid!"
