It's called a blaster, Will, a word that tends to discourage experimentation. Now, if it were called the Orgasmater, I'd be the first to try your basic button press approach.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Who, from Dresden Files?

dcp - Oct 17, 2012 3:40:21 pm PDT #21405 of 30001
The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Dresden -- played by Paul Blackthorne

Steph, I have the DVDs, if you want to borrow them sometime.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

It's been years and years and years since I've read "The Scarlet Pimpernel," but is this what we're getting here on Arrow? (Pretending to be a wastrel by day while saving people by night?)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Paul Blackthorne was pretty much the reason that I decided to watch Arrow in the first place. I miss The Dresden Files.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Pretending to be a wastrel by day while saving people by night?

IIRC, that was the original comic's approach: millionaire playboy Oliver Queen.

I like what they're doing with the arrows, although I wish it didn't seem like he'd created them all in the last two weeks. The fight scenes are kind of laughable, though.

It was; they made him basically a copy of Bruce Wayne. Green Arrow had a teen sidekick, even an Arrowcave.

On next week's preview: Fuck yeah, Deadshot!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bruce Wayne, Green Hornet, lots of people I can't think of right now. I don't know if Scarlet Pimpernel is the Platonic version, or the template, but he's certainly got lots of company.

the Platonic version

Plato probably fought crime by night.

I didn't know Blackthorne was in it. Now I'll def. watch. I embarrassed Paul Blackthorne (mildly) once, I owe him.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Plato probably fought crime by night.

We know he had a cave.
