Sepinwall and Feinberg HATED B&B. I decided to completely beg off the show because they went on a 10 minute rant about it on the podcast.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Kristin Kreuk. Enough said. I might have given it a sht otherwise.
thing is I LOVED the original. Just loved the show. I was boo-hooing every Friday night with that show.
I'm not sure I can even consider a remake.
Alternative Doctor Who ending for Amy and Rory:
I have something in my eye....
Edit: written by Chris Chibnall, never filmed, and now animated with a voiceover by Arthur Darvill.
I don't remember the Beast any, but that's because the Beauty drove me away with her insipidity. She's quite remarkably miscast as a cop. Not since the Charlie's Angels remake have I been less convinced by a woman in any sort of position of physical and psychological authority--in fact, they may have been better at it than her.
Bully for her for continuing to pay the rent and all that, but..someone lost a chance at a mediocre show here (and I don't mean Katee Sackhoff). It's sad to think that when the people in charge thought "beauty!" "with a gun!" that buttery-eyed Kristin is the best they could do.
There are projects out there with her name on them. This isn't it, because they're mostly on Lifetime.
Alternative Doctor Who ending for Amy and Rory:
Well that would have put to rest any question that Rory and Amy ended up together and happy.
I'm SO with le nubian on the original B&tB. It was a huge part of my late 80s experience...judge as you will.
This new version? Everything everyone else said with a healthy dose of...show runners? How did you get from there to here?
Emotion less. Weak acting. Poor storytelling.
It says something that the best moment I can remember is the music on headphones of the beanie wearing attacker on the subway platform.
Reaaaalllly bad.
And another thing! Quite apart from the mystical stuff (which I loved) in the original, the family loyalty dynamic was the root of the story...the engine for tension and forward movement.
Having the Beast be HulkBourne? Tired and lazy.
Either Kreuk or the CW-issue blank underwear model cast as the Beast would have been enough to keep me from watching. Combined, they allow me to feel confident in pointing and laughing from afar.
One of my friends stuck it out for 15 minutes.
Another suggests that the only way to watch is to be imbibing copious amounts of alcohol.
