Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I could have lived without the voiceover, but I rather enjoyed that episode. I mean, you're going to have a hard time going terribly wrong with me and serious consideration of ethical dilemmas. But I liked the not-too-OTT Western-y-ness (and the discussion of the relationship between "the West" and the Civil War was nice). And that it was deeply continuous with character arcs and whatnot.

eta: Someone on Tumblr was complaining that "Susan" was a fail-y joke, and I get the logic, but I think hating on it is a bit harsh.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I also liked it. could have used a bit more Rory, but I always want more Rory.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I thought it was boring, and Ben Browder was wasted. I was sleepy, though, so that never helps.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ben Browder was wasted.

I thought he was a lot better used here than he was on Chuck.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Wait... that was Browder?

Yep. Continuing his run of unfortunate facial hair.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Unfortunate, perhaps, but at least it was credible, unlike The Thing That Ate His Face.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

i'm with you, P-C. i went to dinner in the middle of it and didn't really mind because i was bored. i was sad about Ben being so underused too.

I quite enjoyed this episode, it had fun playing with a lot of Western ideas. It had to be an improvement from last week.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I did enjoy it. But Solomon would certainly be surprised to hear that killing the bad guys is not what the Doctor does. If he had not been blown to bits to save to the Doctor and his friends. With zero objections by Amy. (And zero objections by me I admit. But turning over Mr. War Crimes over to Cyber Sheriff to save a town is pretty much the equivalent of what the Doctor did to Solomon last episode - letting him divert the missiles from the dinosaurs. )
