I hate that picture because it's so...damsel in distress and I don't like it. It 's an image I've seen lots of places, or just the still and it was one of the first I saw for the season (which I haven't seen yet) and it seemed like. Amy is helpless and the Doctor is saving her. And that's not the dynamic that's been there and I just wish they didn't go there. Or used another image for the promotion other than the helpless damsel being saved by the strong man.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Lost Girl: Grandfather? I didn't actually see that coming.
Me neither. But when Grandfather Trick talks about how smart Bo was I could not help thinking: "Ok, doting Grandpa. But still an impressive ability to ignore a huge pile of evidence."
For some reason, I enjoy the gaping logic gaps in this show. I guess it is like enjoying Cheetos, orange mess on your hands and all.
Oh and one think I meant to ask. We had a test of the emergency broadcast system. It was while Bo had trade the aphrodisiac to the redcaps for Vex, and the redcaps were about to kill Vex and her and the Morrigan came in to kill everybody. And then just as the Morrigan was about to kill Bo, Vex backed her play. And the test started and when the program came back the scene was over. So did Vex explain why he joined Bo? Did he actually get that unless Bo killed the Garuda, the Garuda would kill everyone including him? So he actually backed Bo out of an ability to measure self-interest in a length longer than few hours? Or was it for some other reason, like protection from The Morrigan or the Red Caps? I'm pretty sure he gave an explanation (maybe not a true one) in the minute or so I missed.
Except I kind of love the idea of Rory as a Weasley.
I went right to that place, too. Maybe Arthur has a second Muggle family that he's been keeping on the side?
Regarding the Doctor Who promo pic, when I first saw it I saw one solider carrying another fallen (probably dead) solider off the battle field.
Yeah, I didn't see anything sexy about it.

Yep, that's how it struck me, too.
Last night's episode was so fun!
Last night's ep was a kick. My favorite random Doctor moment was when Rory said, slightly exasperated, that he didn't have a Christmas list anymore, and the Doctor said, hands in the air and with the unbridled joy of a child, "I do!!!"
And I also loved the trowel/nursing supplies thing with Rory and his dad. That was awesome.
And poor Doctor watching the Ponds all looking down at Earth. Aw.
I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Doctor Who. No matter how cool, it seems that everything ends in misery.
Doctor: yes loved, loved, loved the episode. My personal highlight was a very shallow one. Towards the beginning of the episode when it was clear where they were and what it was inhabited by my thought was "Motherfucking dinosaurs on a motherfucking spaceship". Two negatives.
1) They have a greedy murderous trader with a big nose and they name him "Solomon"?
2) Queen Nerfiti chooses to have a romance with the white big game hunter in 1902 Africa rather than go back to rule her people?
