'Underneath'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

The cameo by Grant Imahara was funny. Were there any others?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I loved the "life flashing before his eyes" montage. Lot of Beverly in there, though.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That was a good send-off, and I'm so glad they were able to gather so much of the original cast and guest stars from its continuity for a proper goodbye. It is a show that I will miss.

Nice that they had a shot of Nathan, though.

The hell? This last season of Eureka is already out on DVD today. That's a helluva short turn around time.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Well they did wrap production almost two years ago. It's not like there were last-minute effects that needed to be done.

The finale wasn't their best ep, but it did what it needed to, and I feel fine about it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Two years ago???? No, it definitely wasn't done that long ago. Colin's been done filming a year, tops, and I don't think he's been looking for a new gig even that long. But definitely not two.

Uh, I came in because I had a reaction to the episode. I had a much harder time than I'd expected bringing myself to watch it--for not very sensible reasons I guess I wasn't ready to be done with all of this. It wasn't stunning casework, and they did throw everything but new Nathan and Kim footage at it, but there was a time I wouldn't have trusted them with the sentiment (I didn't think they'd pull out of the S3 dive), so I'm not begrudging them the sugar they went out with. Five years was a good run, and they could afford to be sentimental. And sure, lots of hyperprofessional multi-degreed women have children by three different men. Happens all the time. Seriously, Allison, is childcare that cheap and easy to come by that birth control is such an afterthought for you? it can't be that Eureka doesn't have unreliable...what am I saying? Her birth control is probably the mother and the father of the babies. All of them.

Huh, for some reason I thought it had been much longer.

Heh. At least Eureka never went with a Magic Pregnancy plotline.

I note that Carter will also be the father of children by two different mothers with three different fathers between them, so at least he and Allison are dealing with this on an even-ish basis.
