I have to say, I'm fucking astonished at how much I've liked Eureka. And I don't mean that because Colin's in it. Or because he's not ridiculously talented and kind of my favourite...well, precisely because, I guess. What in god's green earth were the chances of that Even counting the Degree debacle of season three, how come things worked out?
I'm still in utter disbelief. Like, the John Rogers thing I can kind of handle, but this is still incredibly weird.

I don't need the writers to go out on a particularly funny or goofy tone. Eureka has always been able to hit some poignant emotional notes, and I keep being surprised that many people don't seem to like or remember that. The io9 recapper is "that's not this show". The show that killed Stark? Had Henry wipe Jack? Killed Kim? It's always been that to me, and I was not so much hoping it would go out that way as simply expecting it.
I both like and remember the poignant bits that you are speaking about, but my favorite part of Eureka has always been the goofy stuff and Colin's physical comedy. I guess I just feel that this season hasn't been very balanced. There has been too much dark for me, without enough goofy, especially for the final season.
Holly doesn't bug me at all, but ever since the Zorro fantasy episode with Jo and Fargo, I was hoping that they would end the show with those two together. It doesn't look like it is ever going to happen now, which makes me sad.

Yes, this. The best best part of the show was Zoe and Carter's relationship. I wish she had been in more episodes the last couple of seasons.

Colin was one of the best TV dads EVAH! And I'd like to see him go out on that. I guess that would be my one big regret if Zoe doesn't come back. Otherwise, it was one HELL of a show, and bless anyone for giving Joe Morton such a wonderful role for so many years. Like missing Tim Roth, I think I will miss seeing Joe more than anything. Sadly to say including Colin; though I hope he has something lined up because I do love Colin. I just find Joe Morton to be something more...more.

I hope you are right Vortex. My DVR cuts out way too soon into the previews because I have the timing adjusted for when Monday was a crowded, crowded schedule of shows. All of which I think are now finito. Huh.
No, H50 will be back at least.
