I am not worried about anything permanent happening to Lin for some reason. I kind of knew something was going to happen to her the way she looked back at the air bending family. I'm glad she isn't dead.
I think the fucker who is taking the bending power needs to have his chi disrupted and all of those whose powers have been taken away will regain them.
