Anyone still watching Awake? I'm behind, but I just watched "That's Not My Penguin" and I am so impressed with this show. Of course it's probably not getting a second season, right?

I've been watching it. "That's Not My Penguin" is definitely one of the best episodes, but I'm not sure I'd continue watching even if it did get renewed. It's not really living up to the promise of the pilot for me.

That's fair. The hints of conspiracy I've seen so far have been my least favorite parts of the show and I expect that would eventually become a bigger part of the story. I'm just getting really caught up in the psychological stuff. Kyle Killen may be my new writer to watch.

The conspiracy is stupid and annoying and weakens the psychological stuff, which is definitely the best and most interesting part of the show. The procedural aspects are also sort of irritating because at this point the "connections" between the cases are so flimsy and incidental as to be completely arbitrary, which I guess is fine if they use the dream-logic excuse, but it's like...is that the one trick you have, show?
