Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

'Life of the Party'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Blood and Chrome not to be aired on SyFy: [link]

(I can't find earlier discussion of that--apologies if it's a dupe)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Was it ever going to? I thought it was a web series from the beginning.

Well, I can't imagine the network would confirm it if it never was thought so, otherwise I guess Fox will be explaining next that they're not airing it.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I am so happy to see Jeremy! My boo!

I'm not a big fan of Elena, but they big time sold her isolation there, and I did feel for her. Magic has taken everything from her. Her brother can't even miss her properly, and her best friends can't be as close to her as they once were, and her boyfriend--well, that was always messed up.

I'm happy to see my Dalaric get a boost there. Maybe they can go raging together.

The Originals thing bores my pants off, though.

Someone just said "Everything you like about Buffy, Supernatural, and the X Files--it's all from Kolchak".

Now, I get that the show did the 20th century investigation of the paranormal with an urbane tone, but there are two reasons I really really love those three shows--amazing interpersonal dynamics, and gut-busting hilarity. I've never heard anyone talk about humour or characterisation on Kolchak, but the OP linked me a clip that I guess he thought was funny.

What sort of humour did the show have? I know it didn't run as long as the show's it's being compared to, and I don't think they got off the ground with their intense and dedicated humour eps within the number of eps Kolchak actually had to run, so it's an unfair comparison, but did it at least look like it had the roots for similar comedy?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

As I recall, there was a bit of wit on display, and some ironic humor regarding Kolchak being regarded as a crank despite actually being right about the monsters. But nothing to the degree the comedy that was sometimes a feature of Buffy, or even the funnier X-Files episodes.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

What I used to like about TVD was that they'd introduce the idea of something happening and, boom, it would happen. I hope they get back to that and actually take out the Originals. So tired of them.

While I'm wishing, bring back Jeremy, preferably in bad-ass mode.
