Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

The pilot didn't blow me away or anything, but I'm mostly wading in the shallow end of the pool, where I enjoy looking at Jason Isaacs mangsting in existential crisis.

The procedural aspect is going to be tougher to swallow, but the season preview seems to hint at some kind of a story arc. I'll keep it in my season pass list for now.

Yeah, I've had dreams where I (perceive that I) speak perfect, fluent French. I do not, in this reality, do that. So he shouldn't worry about the Constitution.

I liked it enough to keep watching and am not bothered that the pilot is confusing -- I kind of feel like we're supposed to feel his disorientation, too, and I'm cool with that.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

The ability to read things and not have the text stay the same is one of the things that people use to trigger awareness that they're dreaming when trying to achieve lucid dreaming, as text tends to not be stable in dreams.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I learned that from an episode of Batman: The Animated Series.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't care if that's realistic behaviour. It's not entertaining, and it's not endearing. Fuck, I wanted Carl dead. The new world is going to need sensible children. Not dopes like him, acting out.

However, Dale is highly annoying, so not sorry to see him gone. Kind of annoyed that it had to be the noble savage hillbilly that took him out, because our hero didn't actually have the stones for it, but there you go.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Once Upon A Time managed to have an actual happy ending ... sort of.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It seems like the logic fairy is flying further and further away from Storybrooke.

Man, Carl is so fucked-up, and this isn't going to help matters. Dale was super-annoying, but what was more annoying is that he was being annoying while saying sensible things. Who will take the moral high ground with everyone now?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

While the graphic novels have their issues (no pun intended), the further these writers stray from particular character development in the graphic novels, the less I like this series.

If it can be believed, the AMC show is making the people out to be DUMBER than in the graphic novel. How is this possible?
