Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

What didn't they think through, sumi?

I liked the Ark of Truth, but it really played like just a long episode.

Art Crawl!!!

How stalkery she would appear. . . among many things.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

She didn't seem stalkery to me...just piney beyond any sense. Given how socially inept she seemed before joining Torchwood, I can see her not knowing how to do this well.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Tosh wasn't stalkery, she just appeared to be a doormat. No matter how many crappy things that Owen did or said, she kept loving him. God knows that I've seen many smart women make bad choices in men (looks at self in mirror), but I'm disappointed that Tosh didn't finally come to her senses. I could have forgiven the final message, given that she probably recorded it some time ago, but she was still professing her love 'till the end.

eta: I understand that she held a torch for a long time, but once Owen was a COMPLETE BASTARD when she confessed her feelings, the healing process should have begun.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Yes!

I kind of liked that they put a hint in of Owen's POV when he told Tosh he was going to the restroom, but he knew at that point he couldn't so he was just ditching her, and you see some relief on his face as he gets away. That was the first time I realized that Owen wasn't being an oblivious bastard. I don't think he knew what to do, but he was aware he was doing it.

I wanted Tosh to be stronger than that and would have loved to have seen that side of her juxtaposed immediately with the message she recorded in her earlier state of door mat. Unfortunately it was just "I love you". Tosh!! ::headdesk::

although interestingly, she kind of wussed out at the end of the tape. "Owen. I love you. All of you" Which I'm thinking may have supposed to show us how long it's been since she made it? I don't know.

Anyone watching Reaper? "You bring the Devil, I'll bring the pain" and of course, "the number of the beast"

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Skipping a whole shitload, but has it been posted that SCC has been renewed? [link]

YAY more kickass Summer Glau and Lena Headey on my tv!

Stargate: Ark of Truth was, yeah, much like a long episode, with all the same flaws a late-season SG-1 episode tends to have. It was okay, and Teal'c was awesome, and Daniel speechifying and Cameron tough and Sam smart and Vala ... Vala-esque. It was SG-1. Fun but hardly great art.

All is well that ends in pizza.
