Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Yup, Sark is the Big Bad Wolf.

They're taking inspiration from Tex Avery?

Ha! Apparently so

LeN exactly.

Question: Rumpelstiltskin remembers everything, correct? That's how he knows to use "please" to get Regina to do what he wants. Or does she remember too? That's the only thing I don't exactly get.

Is her first name Snow and her last name White?

IIRC her name is Princess Snow White (no last name) because the Queen wished for a daughter with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as dark as ebony. Or something like that. Now I feel like I need to see who has my grandmother's copy of the Grimm fairy tales. Probably my aunt...hummm...

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I am not sure if Rump remembers EVERYTHING. it is like he kinda has hints or something. The mayor does seem to know what is going on. But why would she need to consult the book at all?

It is confusing then. I really hope they go into that, and where the book came from and why Regina doesn't just trash the book and be done with it (maybe she can't???)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

IIRC her name is Princess Snow White (no last name) because the Queen wished for a daughter with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as dark as ebony.

The way I remember it, Snow White's mother pricked her finger while she was doing some embroidery, and when she saw the red blood on the snowy white linen (with black embroidery thread? I'm not sure) she knew she'd have a child with skin as white as snow and lips as red as blood (and hair as black as night? I have a mental block about the hair or something). Or maybe wished for it. And I often get the stories of Snow White and Snow White and Rose Red confused, so I could be doing that now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think the embroidery hoop was black. I dunno. I'm not sure where that's coming from.

Art Crawl!!!

From wikipedia:

Once upon a time as a queen sits sewing at her window, she pricks her finger on her needle and three drops of blood fall on the snow that had fallen on her ebony window frame. As she looks at the blood on the snow, she says to herself, "Oh, how I wish that I had a daughter that had skin white as snow, lips red as blood, and hair black as ebony". Soon after that, the queen gives birth to a baby girl who has skin white as snow, lips red as blood, and hair black as ebony. They name her Princess Snow White. As soon as the child is born, the queen dies.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Though I must note (because it took me a really long time to find the right page on the Grimm's in my ereader, so I want to impart a little info so as to not feel my effort was wasted - you understand) that though it agrees with the origin of the name, it gives the Princess' name as "Snowdrop".
