A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Okay, I get that it wasn't Nordic land--it was America 1000 years ago. Duh. Both the Nordic types and African types can make a pitch for having crossed those waters, so I'll let it slide, but the witch crap is bullshit.
I'm having a hard time buying the transcendency of fraternal love, even though that's what I tune into Supernatural for every week. It's not like I don't believe in the principle, obviously. I just never got it here. But if they say so, 'tis so.
Oh, this Walter, torturing himself, denying himself that which he wants the most
because
it's what he wants the most, and he doesn't deserve
that.
I wonder if they'll adjust the A world so that they remember him, or if they'll keep this distance, or if he'll earn back a closeness.
I think the relationships will have to be earned again.
Poor Walter never got his white tulip.
Just wanted to say "Yay TESLA!" for
Sanctuary.
Show gets more (at all?) interesting when he shows up.
How does he fit so many teeth in his mouth? It's creepy, but I don't know that it's FX.
Anybody watching The Secret Circle? I think it's cute. I finally realised what doesn't grab me about Vampire Diaries. There are no do-gooders. No one thinks "These things are bad. They hurt people. We should stop them." Not the protagonists, anyway. They're barely even willing to fight for each others' lives. It's a supernatural teen drama. Not a supernatural heroic drama. Which is why I don't think it should be compared to Buffy. They're just not doing the same things.
Anyway, back to Secret Circle. I'm not sure what the mythos is yet. Hell, I'm not sure how old they are. But I like how they're trying to work out the world around them, and I feel like there's a supernatural quest that's more important than their interpersonal dramas.
I doubt it'll match it for pace, or Supernatural or Buffy for emotional impact, but I do enjoy it so far.
eta: Huh. They went there. The CW is a ballsy little almost-network.
I liked this episode of OuaT. I'm thinking that the show would have been better as a mini-series, because I can't imagine what they'll do in a second season, but it may hold me through the year.
OuaT certainly has lush production values.
I like identifying the storybook characters. I immediately said "Sleepy!" when the guard yawned.
I wonder if Sleepy should go in for a sleep study. He could have apnea.
Ha!
I've been enjoying Secret Circle too. . . although the lalalala stuff that goes with the opening title makes me want to scream.
Also - it amused me that a horse named Secret Circle on the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Sprint on Friday.
That's funny about the horse, sumi. I'm liking Secret Circle, too. More than TVD at the moment. I think my favorite thing is that no one seems to really know what's what, And it matters to at least some characters when other characters die. I find the whole intertwined family business confusing (the current circle's parents made up the previous circle, but 6 makes a circle and it seems like hardly anyone marries (or procreates) outside the circle? And it's convenient how all the previous circle had babies at the same time so they could be in the same high school class), but if I don't think about it very much it doesn't bother me, and not thinking about it is pretty easy so far.
