Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Was Farscape shot in high-def?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My regular DVD set looks just fine, so I'm not too bothered by the new release.

hwæt

If it was shot on film, then it can be HD. The SFX shots probably aren't in HD, though, which might be a little jarring.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

S1 wasn't shot widescreen and I hope the Blu-Ray doesn't try to convert it. Aspect ratio conversion pretty much always looks like crap.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What does converting to widescreen even mean? Using Photoshop Autofill on either side?

You can either stretch it to fit the screen (not a good idea when your images contain human faces) or crop the top and bottom and blow up the whole thing (not a good idea when your original image was SD to begin with).

But the industry tends to think people will freak out if they don't get an image that fills the screen, so we'll see.

Wow, not even very sophisticated. Yes, that would be lame.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

So, at DragonCon, my friend Stephen was in a bathtub with Colin.

You're friends with the DCTV guy? Cool.

Well, not close friends. Penpals? When I was recapping Jericho he emailed about it and became my official technical advisor because, god, that show. And after a few months I was all, "Hey, if you're into IF you should check out the stuff this guy I used to know in high school does," and he was all, "Er, yeah, I used to be his roommate." And then I realized he and my SIL also have mutual acquaintances, so he's like my own personal Kevin Bacon or something.

The internet is neat.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm currently re-watching last season's finale of Nikita. It was an excellent episode; I'm really looking forward to what this season brings.
